Direto XR Flywheel Spins Longer After Workout

Postby misa99 » Thu Jul 02, 2026 9:47 am

Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed something unusual with my Elite Direto XR over the past week. After finishing a workout and stopping pedaling, the flywheel seems to keep spinning much longer than it used to, and sometimes there’s a faint mechanical hum before it fully slows down.

The trainer still works normally during the ride, power and resistance feel fine, but the cooldown after stopping feels noticeably different compared to before.

Here’s what I’ve already checked:

Trainer firmware is up to date
The bike is mounted correctly and the cassette lockring is tight
no rubbing from the rear derailleur or chain
The trainer is on a level floor and stable mat
The issue happens in different apps, so it doesn’t seem app-specific

I’m wondering if this is just normal wear-in behavior, a bearing-related sign, or something else in the resistance unit that I should keep an eye on. Has anyone else with a Direto XR noticed a change in flywheel spin-down behavior over time?

Thanks in advance.
