Can anyone advise how to change the lever, handlebar operated resistance cable? For reasons unknown it has developed about 2 cm of slack on setting 1. However, pedalling on the bike whilst on the trainer, on resistance setting 1, is very difficult in the easiest possible bike gear (32/28).

Check the cable for any visible signs of damage or wear. If it's frayed or damaged, it will likely need to be replaced. Turn the adjustment barrel clockwise to tighten the cable and counterclockwise to loosen it. Start by turning it a small amount in the appropriate direction to see if it resolves the slack issue. After making adjustments, test the resistance by pedaling on the bike while it's on the trainer. Adjust the barrel as needed until you achieve the desired resistance level. If adjusting the barrel doesn't solve the problem, you may need to replace the cable.

Also..I forgot to mention that difficulty pedaling on the lowest resistance setting could indicate a mechanical issue with the trainer - malfunctioning resistance unit or improper setup.

Thanks for the response, however the cable needs replacing/re-attaching inside the turbo mechanism. I turned the cable adjuster, to take up the slack in the cable, but it had no effect. In fact, the adjuster came out of the turbo trainer as well as the cable, and the nut. So how are the internals of the turbo tranier accessed to re-attach cable, nut and adjuster screw? I've searched in all obvious forums, the Elite site and there appears to be no information regarding this problem. Can anybody assist? Thank you.

This is also a great article that I really enjoyed reading. I definitely don't take the time to learn everything every day.
