Increasing Tension

I purchased my Elite Direto X in March 2020 and have not really had any issues until now. During the winter, I ride about 3.5 hours/week using Trainer Road. Just before doing that latest firmware update in March 2025 I started having tension issues. It starts towards the last half of 1 to 1.5 hour rides, only happens during the "working" parts of intervals in VO2 max, sweetspot and or endurance rides. During an interval, the tension creeps up on it's own within a minute or so, to the point where I can't move the pedals without standing and putting all my weight down. When the recovery segment kicks in, the tension goes back to what feels like normal. I am in contact with Elite right now, but so far, the advice has been for some physical maintenance (removing grease and reapplying). I still need to do this. However, this feels like a software issue and seems odd that it started just before I completed the Firmware update. I was hoping that would fix it. It is very odd sounding I know, but I would like to know if anyone else has had this happen?

Complete the maintenance as Elite instructed (clean and re-grease), then re-test.Pokerogue If the error persists, ask Elite about possible firmware errors and try connecting to another app to determine if the cause is software or hardware.

Elite’s customer service has a good rep for replacing faulty units if maintenance doesn’t resolve it, so keep pushing them for a deeper investigation. Crazy Cattle 3D
