Zwift Ride and Direto XR-T

I recently bought a Zwift Ride thinking it would be compatible with my 2022 Elite Direto XR-T. I now discovered this is not the case.
The troubleshooters at Zwift informed me that Elite is planning an update of the firmware of 'older' Direto XR-T's at the end of the year. This should make them compatible with Elite ride.
Is this the case? When will this update be released?
