Hi there! I recently bought the yearly membership for My E-training to do workouts on my (almost) new Direto XR Team, as the app seemed like great value (compared to the pricing of Zwift and the like). But so far the experience has been disappointing due to the average speed. You see, on my previous (single-speed, non-smart) trainer, I tended to average ~25kmh for my Zone 2 rides at ~160W. Doing the rides in My E-training, both in free ride and in resistance mode, I now average ~20kmh for the same power output. The slope is set at 0%, so this is not the issue. There is also no belt overtightening, from what I can tell (the calibration offset is just one point off the underside sticker value).
This drop in average speed is discouraging, to put it mildly. A zwifter would easily average 30kmh on a flat course spin. In real life, outdoor rides on flat roads are also much faster than 20kmh at 160W.
So my question is: is this the trainer baseline set so unrealisticly high (interpreting the speed for a 0% gradient course to be 20kmh @160W)? is this the app? or am I doing something wrong?
Poor average speed on My E-training
