Configuring power reading

I cannot configure the power reading for my Direto. I am using bluetooth, the trainer and cadence sensor configuration is fine but when i try to configure the power sensor in settings it asks me to start pedaling which I do but even after 5 minutes nothing happens. Any suggestions? Do I need a separate power sensor on the bike?
